The Stoppel Unit #34-1 (2268’ FSL; 147’ FEL Sec. 34-T9S-R13W, Osborne County, KS) was spud May 17, 2023, and drilled to a RTD of 4150’. The wildcat test was plugged as a dry hole on May 25, 2023. Southwind Drilling Rig #8 provided rotary tools. The well stepped out over 4 miles from the nearest established production in the Sigle Northwest field. Poor zone development confirmed with negative drill stem testing and open hole log evaluation led to the decision to P & A. Russell Oil Exploration Geologist Kitt Noah provided on-site geological supervision. The wildcat well site was located 7 miles north, 3 west of Luray, Kansas.
